Born out of the desire to play with hollowed out light bulbs in different ways and my love of small scale concrete, this concrete light bulb stand will add a touch of industrial and minimalism to any setting.

Made from solid concrete and molded with a dimple in the top shaped exactly to fit a standard light bulb, it will firmly hold your light bulb for use as a vase or aquarium or whatever you desire.

The bottom has a circle of foam rubber attached to keep it in place and avoiding any scratches on the surface it's placed on.

This item is for the Dimple Puck itself, plus one hollowed out light bulb. For those who wish to hollow out your own lightbulbs, please contact me and I can create a special listing just for you.

The name "Dimple Puck" came from my father who, when I explained the idea to him the first time said "So it's a concrete hockey puck." Yes, I explained, but it's a concrete hockey puck with a dimple in it. Thus the name was created. It wasn't until I created my first prototype that he could see what I was talking about.

I love the look and feel of concrete as a creative medium and hope you do as well. As a building material it adds mass and presence wherever it is used and can be made into almost any shape. Please let me know if you have any questions on this item or any other of my concrete ideas here on Etsy.

What you can use a hollowed out light bulb for is limited only by your imagination.

In these pictures it's acting as a small vase (orange glass gems not included), but it can also be used as a greenhouse as seen at:

Or as an aquarium as seen at:

It would make an excellent vessel for a tabletop biosphere - check out the video tutorial for that at:

Then there are those who turn them into kerosene lamps as seen at:

I'll be posting a detailed tutorial on how to make one of these in full soon on my website at http:\/\/www.whamodyne.com, but you can see earlier, related posts at:

For those keeping score at home, this one is from the second production run or later.
