Original Pastel Painting by Leslie Cope "An Old World Blacksmith Shop" Original Frame 1977. This is a fabulous Pastel Painting under non-glare glass. A beautiful depiction of an everyday act, shoeing a horse at the Blacksmith Shop. Large painting measures 16 inches by 20 inches. Still in the original frame, measures 23 1/2 inches by 27 1/2 inches. Signed and Dated in lower right hand corner and on the back which also has the Title "An Old World Blacksmith Shop".
Leslie Cope 1913 - 2002, Born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, Leslie Cope came to America in 1931 and settled in Roseville, Ohio where he continued to paint well into his eighties. He was a prolific Painter in everyday life, among his favorite subjects were Horses, Animals and Landscapes of everyday activities of rural living. Leslie Cope was recognized both here and abroad for his Paintings and Watercolors.
The Painting has always hung in a smoke free environment.
