Vintage Eggshell Nautilus Homer Laughlin China 18 Piece Collection with Single Border Pink Tea Roses Circa 1943-1944. I found these pieces at an estate sale and easily imagined in any Shabby Chic, Country Cottage decorating Decor.

The Homer Laughlin China Company is still going strong today, how lucky we all are. The line of Eggshell Nautilus was designed by Frederick Hurten Read from 1937-1950. Homer Laughlin Company created a new process for making dinnerware that was thinner and stronger than the product they had previously produced. the shapes and lined created in this process was termed, "eggshell". The eggshell glaze was craze proof , meaning that patterns would not crack over the glaze that expanded over time.

This pattern is so sweet, with a pale blue outside border, followed by a yellow ring, with individual stemmed pink roses with green leaves resting on the yellow border. The remaining portions of the china are the color of eggshells.

This collection consists of 23 pieces, there are no nicks, chips or crazing.
6 Berry/Fruit/Sauce Bowls, that measures 5 1/2" in diameter
6 Salad Plates, that measure 8" in diameter
6 Dinner Plates, that measure 9 1/2" in diameter

This would be a perfect gift for a Wedding or a Shower, to any one of your vintage Homer Laughlin aficionado's. This definitely has my name on it, but my cupboards are packed, if only you knew.

Let's get this wrapped up for Lady Mary and Matthew as a gift to them from us, can't wait for Season 3 to start!
