The View Master works great and viewing slides is still as fun as when I was a child. Here's a little history about the ViewMaster ViewFinder.
Vintage Sawyers ViewMaster beige/mushroom color, stereoscopic 3-D viewer with Patent No. 2,511,334 which was issued June 13, 1950. The viewmaster is in great condition and I have two sets of reel packets that are being listed separately. The View-Master has a long history, dating back to the late 1930's in Portland, Oregon, USA. It was initially conceived by William Gruber and Harold Graves. Graves, who was president of Sawyers Photographic Services, saw the potential of Gruber's camera rig he had developed for taking stereo photographs. The pair formed a partnership and the View-Master was born in 1938.
