This ceramic vase gets its unique colors from the raku firing process. In a raku, the pieces are fired at roughly 1800 degrees, then pulled and placed into a small metal trash can, lined with magazine cutouts. The cans are then covered and the reduction process begins. After the reduction process is complete, the pieces are quenched with water, locking in all of the beautiful colors.

This vase measures 6.25" in height, and 7" in width.

Raku pieces are meant for decorative purposes only. The vase becomes porous from the firing process, and therefore will not hold water. The chemicals mixed in the glazes also prevent the pieces from being food safe.

I hope you enjoy my piece just as much as I enjoyed making it!
Thank you so much for taking the time to look through my pieces

*I throughly enjoy the entire process of creating a ceramic piece, and therefore I do not use any molds or slip casts. All of my pieces are uniquely made on the throwing wheel with my own hands.*
