Oval tray by Los Castillo. Beautiful hand wrought concave surface with thick folded edge. Ethereal under the sea composition.

The silver house of Los Castillo was probably the leader in creating pieces utilizing the art of metales casados, or "married metals." Metales Casados is now a lost art, never to be revived.

Brass,, copper, silver and alpaca. Has a significant weight.

Dish is approximately 4.25 inches long by 3.25 inches wide and 0.25 inches deep.

Hallmarked: "Los Castillo Taxco" "Handwrought" "Hecho en Mexico" "269"

Condition is very good vintage. Will leave the choice of polishing to the next owner.
