This exquisite Edwardian dragonfly pin is a majestic example of the fine art of jewelry making of a by-gone era. Its body is full of individually prong set brilliant and richly toned natural hand faceted garnet gemstones. The feelers are adorned with a pair of natural white pearls.

The detailing of the metalwork is extraordinary and although it is not marked, these works were most often set in silver. When unmarked the silver was likely to have been an even higher count that our 925 Sterling.

The full length of the dragonfly's body is 2.25 inches and the full span of its wings is 2.75 inches.
The brooch closes with a long bar that hooks into a piece of rolled metal with an open under edge. This closure was an evolutionary step between the open C clasp and the later Edwardian bugle clasp.

The pin is in excellent condition with no chipped, cracked, missing or replaced stones and is truly a rare find for any Collector of fine antique jewelry of this type.
