African Bracelet made of Native Trade Beads. Strung on Leather cord. Beads are a mixture of rustic brass, Hebron beads and African Awale chevron beads. The chevron Awale beads are approx 6x9mm. These beads are Venetian, and were used in African trade in the 19th century. The greenish-yellow Hebron beads date from the 19th century and are described below. Total length is 8 inches, but is a tight fit, due to the nature of the large pebble button loop closure. This is a OOAK bracelet.

Hebron Beads: Hebron glass refers to glass produced in Hebron as part of a flourishing art industry established in the city during Roman rule in Palestine. Hebron's Old City still contains a quarter named the "Glass-Blower Quarter" and Hebron glass continues to serve as a tourist attraction for the city. Traditionally, the glass was melted using local raw materials, including sand from neighbouring villages, sodium carbonate (from the Dead Sea), and coloring additives such as iron oxide and copper oxide.
