Vintage travel bars/portable pubs/suitcase bars are great decor items and gifts -- for groomsmen, husbands, dads, boyfriends, guy friends, etc. (Then again, one of the last ones I sold was for a "lady mixologist." Sweet!)

The one drawback is that, nine times out of 10, some or all of the components are missing. And, it's nearly impossible to tack down the missing pieces on their own. This particular portable/suitcase pub is 100% intact -- and pretty great to look at, too.

I've sold several of these travel pubs in my Etsy shop, and this one seems older than those -- pre-1960s, at least. And, its case isn't hard plastic, but wood covered in a black vinyl (or, possibly, real leather) with white stitching and brass hardware. Closed, this piece measures 11-1/4" wide x 6" deep x 13" high.

Inside, you'll find:
-- 2 aluminum shot glasses
-- 2 aluminum tumblers
(NOTE: The light spotting on the exteriors of these components -- as evident in the photos -- will not remove. I've tried soap-and-water, and even Barkeeper's Friend, but it won't budge. It's a minor detail, but worth noting. The interiors of the tumblers are clean and ready to use.)
-- Vintage stainless chrome cocktail spoon with forked end (for spearing fruit or olives, no doubt)
-- Vintage stainless chrome bottle opener
-- Space for three full-size contemporary liquor or wine bottles

The components on the left-hand side of the case are held in place by black vinyl (possibly leather) straps. The right-hand side's strap is a clear plastic with a chrome button snap.

Condition-wise, this cool old pub is in good, but not perfect, shape. As evident in the handle closeup above, there are some tiny white dots scattered randomly on the exterior that look a little like itty-bitty paint spatters. There are also a few spots of what looks to be red paint on one side -- but they're way less obtrusive than they sound. They look more like chalk marks (but don't come off).

Inside, as the photos detail, the ivory-colored vinyl bears warping, as commensurate with this piece's age. There's one 1/4" cut in the vinyl on the right side, which won't be noticeable once bottles are stored there.

So, it's not a perfect specimen; but, it still has plenty of character, style and useful/decorative life left in it for its next owner.

All the pieces in my shop are cleaned with soap/water; Tarn-X for gold/silver; and Orange-Glo and/or Min-Wax for wood. I take pride in my items arriving at your door ready to use or display.
