Beautifully made, unusual, and verrrry seductive - and sophisticated - vintage 1960s low cut (both front and back!) cocktail wiggle dress, worthy of Mad Men's Joan Holloway.

I've never seen a dress with this design before. It has two long and elegant curved seams starting center of the bodice at the low neckline that curve down past the bust and extend just above the hips, set off with gathers at the hip. The seam then extends straight across the back, at high hip level, as a drop waist. There are also long diagonal darts at the bust, for a very flattering fit.

Mrrrow! *wiggle, wiggle*

I've lightened the last shot a lot, so hopefully you'll be able to see the seamwork and gathers.

The back is low cut as well, and with its dropped waist and slightly blouson cut, gives the impression of being inspired by fashions from the 1920s. (There was a heavy 1920s influence in the fashions of the 60s.)

Label: None remaining (darn it!), just the old size tag

Size marked: A vintage size 10, approximately a modern U.S. size 6

Bust: 36 inches
Waist: 29
Hips: 37
Mid shoulder to hem: 42.5

The Condition: Excellent. No flaws on the outside, the chiffon lining on the skirt has some discoloration - obviously nothing that shows and doesn't detract a whit from its elegance

The Shipping: Delivered by Don Draper (sorry, Roger) bearing two very dry martinis, I mean Priority mail, within the U.S.; International First Class to Canada, and International First Class to Everywhere Else.

Yoohoo, International buyers! Your country may charge you customs fees on your purchase, which you're responsible for paying. Just so you know ahead of time and aren't unpleasantly surprised :)
