Lovely old florentine tray, in tones of light blue and dark gold with white accents. It is made of a lightweight wood covered in a plaster-like material, which is then painted. There are ornate scrolls carved into the tray. Although not marked, it is very much like others I've had that were made in Italy...I suspect that perhaps the maker just missed the step of applying the stamp on the back stating its origination.

This piece is a lovely size, at 11 3/8" in diameter. There are small spots here-and-there where the painted finish has worn away. There are also some chips where the paint and part of the plaster has worn away somewhat, particularly along the rim. I didn't detect any cracks or breaks. Overall, any flaws are rather minor, and this is in nice vintage condition.

Shabby and wonderful, this is a lovely piece to display in your dream cottage.
