Like old antiqued ivory found along an Alaskan coastline or bleached out old fish bones, this is my favorite bead style I make. I lived there for 7 years and the landscape, ocean and all things wild inspire me sometimes.

There is a song I love by an Alaskan musician called Bleachin Bones and when I took this out of the kiln I immediately thought of that song, hence the name.

I love this bead. I especially love the way I was able to fume the ivory from the pure silver leaf that is covering the whole bead. It worked perfectly. I immediately placed it into my kiln from the flame for annealing and it does have a sort of 3-sided shape, which is unusual. I have the original bead I made like this and it is my favorite and wear it often.

This bead measures 14 x 53 mm long

A little trivia about this bead, I made one like this and sent it to the musician that wrote the song, he loved it!

Thanks for looking!
