Doll Miniature Uncle Sam Art Miniature

Uncle Sam, is a well known national personification of the United states government that, according to legend, came into use during the War of 1812 and was supposedly named for Samuel Wilson-At the time of the War of 1812, Samuel Wilson was a prosperous meat-packer . He obtained a contract to supply beef to the Army, which he shipped in barrels. The barrels, being government property, were branded with the initials "U.S.", but the men would joke that the initials referred to "Uncle Sam", who supplied the product.

This fun little icon miniature was created from wood, wire, clay, and paint. I gave Uncle Sam red and white striped pants, white shirt with red bow tie, and a long navy blue jacket. A white top hat with blue star trimmed band adds the final touch to his outfit. Uncle Sam also has a detailed, hand painted face, real white fiber beard and hair, and stands a tiny and collectible 4 1/2 inches tall, (11.4 cm)
