Nicely executed and styled sterling silver floral fantasy pin has a sculptural look. From its large flourish of leaves (almost cornucopia-like) sprouts two bold flowers. On the opposite end is a delicate bellfower with three graduated drops. The design is balanced and dynamic. Truly lovely, c. 1940's brooch
It is marked “Norseland by Coro Sterling” on a cartouche with “REG. US PAT. OFF.” (Zoom picture 3 for a closeup). Norseland was Coro’s high end sterling silver brand. Coro designs were often interpretations of the Georg Jensen style (Denmark), and can be seen in this piece with its bellflower and silver droplets. The cartouche mark also has a Viking ship as its emblem, again referring to the popularity of Scandinavian Modernism. It is in excellent condition with time acquired patina. The pinstem is a little wavy, and the rollover catch functions properly.
This item will be presented in a tarnish resistant pouch and gift boxed.
