Normally, I might not offer a dress with the as-is issues that this dress has. But it is in such a rare size, and it is so charming, that I simply had to pick it up. It is a classically War Era rayon crepe dress with a screen print of pink, white and green roses. There is shirring at the shoulders, 3/4 length sleeves and deep pleats on the bodice to allow for room at the bust. The skirt is a swingy, gored style. There are no closures - the dress slips over the head. Please read all condition comments prior to your order.

Bust: 57"
Waist: 53"
Hips: 51"
Length: 44"

Condition: Fair, As-Is

This darling dress needs some TLC to be more sturdy for wear. While it could be used as a theatrical costume or worn a few times before breaking, some extra love will keep it in your closet longer. The most important issue to note is thinness and fraying at the upper left shoulder area, more toward the center than the outside. Someone has put a small piece of bondex on the inside behind one hole, and there is another hole just above that, about the size of a dime. The edge of the collar has frayed at the sides, where it stayed too long on a a hanger. There are three holes in left sleeve, one in the left shoulder and another bondexed hole at the front left of the skirt. I found two more smallish holes in the skirt. I might recommend shortening the sleeves to the late 30s above-the-elbow length, and using that as material to patch the holes. Again, I normally might not pick up a dress with these flaws, but I'm a sucker for a rescue, and I know there is someone out there to love it.
