This listing is for 3 skeins of Handspun Silk, Nylon, Angora, Poly and Metallic Reclaimed Yarn from my "Spin-Thrift" collection of yarns.

Very soft and suitable for close-to-skin projects. Each skein is over 75 yards - average between 78 and 80 yards. This listing is for a total of 225+ yards.

These yarns have been handspun from a lightly-used sweater. Many manufacturers use yarn that is actually multiples of individual threads with a very loose twist in their knitting process. It is sometimes tough to hand-knit with those threads. Handspinning creates a plied yarn that is more conducive to hand knitting.

Note: It is possible for the yarn to have a join or two or small imperfections that were created during the spinning process.

I absolutely love working with natural fibers, but can't always afford those high-priced yarns at the specialty stores. Buying reclaimed yarn is an Eco-Friendly and economical way to satisfy your creative side! I always recommend hand washing and flat drying for all your handmade treasures.

How My Sweaters are turned into Handspun Yarn:

-Each sweater is carefully unraveled onto a swift.
-The yarn is tied and washed in a wool bath.
- The yarn is then hung unweighted to dry.
-After dry, the yarn is wound into a ball.
-Yarn is first spun into "singles" then the singles are spun together to get the final product.
-The yarn is wound back onto the swift, gently tied then soaked in a wool-bath to set the twist then hung to air-dry unweighted.
-Once dry, the skeins are wound into balls.

This process takes approximately 3 days to complete.

All items come from a smoke-free, pet friendly home.
