Beautifully painted plaster bas relief wall hanging depicting the "Wee Kirk of the Heather" chapel at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Glendale, California. A faithful rendition of the village church at Glencairn, Scotland, where Annie Laurie of Scottish lore worshipped. This type of decor was very popular in the 1940's. Usually cast in plaster and carved and detailed by hand. This has been hand painted beautifully. I love the faux bois texture added to create the "wooden" frame.
There is a wire hanger set into the plaster on the back for hanging. It measures 12" x 6.5". This is in perfect condition, no chips or cracks, which makes it very rare.
