I will guess this is from the 1970s. There are a lot of flowers embroidered on wool. It appears that the artisan abandoned the project halfway through. The wool measures 55" X 52". Colour Winter White with a small/slight weave. Flowers are big, bright, lively, effective. I do not believe the yarn used is wool: perhaps acrylic or similar. Exactly one half of this has been completed, at an angle. Could be used as a table shawl or use it as attire with a little bit of altering. Very nice and in good vintage condition. I do see one light stain on the unembroidered part: it is irregular in shape, about 5" by 3" (most likely a drink stain, which I am assuming will come out with a BIZ soak). 2 of the sides are uncut. One end is slightly raveled with tiny fringe apparent; its opposite end is folded over with a tiny hand sewn hem. There is what I would say a lot of "air" between the embroidered flowers. This piece reminds me of "Vera" (what Vera did with herself at night!) No holes, stains, rips or odors. Thank you for looking!--mybonny
