St. Francis de Sales was a French boy, born to a very influential family in the mid-16th century. At the age of 17, young Francis became extremely confused about the concept of predestination and convinced himself that he was doomed to Hell. He spent nearly 2 years in despair and
literally worried himself sick. One day he had an epiphany in front of a statue of Our Lady. He realized that “God is Love”.

Since God is all loving, whatever God wanted from Francis or for Francis was okay with Francis. As a result, he was at all times calm and affable. He espoused a simple life and said things like:

“Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset.”

“Be who you are and be that well.”

“While I am busy with little things, I am not required to do greater things.”

...making him the perfect patron saint for today’s pointlessly over worked, over indulged and over stressed. Calm Down. God Loves You.

Hand painted medal on antique copper colored ball chain measures 23".

Comes with a holy card story of the saint.
