Navajo Petrified Wood Agate Bracelet - Wide Native American Sterling Cuff Bangle

This is a beautiful bracelet made by a Navajo artist using a stone of petrified wood. The Petrified Forest extends onto Navajo lands and for generations the Navajo have been using it in jewelry. This is a beautiful example in a handmade sterling silver bracelet. Over time the moisture in the wood petrifies into a beautiful and unusual stone which scientists say is harder than steel. The colors are gorgeous and never the same - each is one-of-a-kind. This one is a lovely shade of blue-gray with a bit of red. You can see the striations that were in the wood. It's just beautiful. The sides are embellished with conchos and flowers and adorned with silver leaves that are beautifully detailed..
This is one of those things you have to see in person. The photos do not do it justice.
