Boudicca Historical Art Doll

While many may not have heard of her, Boudicca of the Iceni was a true warrior queen. In the years of AD 60-61, she inspired and was the leader the largest revolt against Roman rule in Britain. While many details of her life are sparse or sketchy, she is still celebrated as someone who stood up against foreign oppression.

Inspired by an artist's rendition of what Boudicca may have been envisioned to look like, I created this special historical character in a red gown with colorful satin stripes with a burgundy over garment. the ensemble sports a fancy golden sash with a royal blue velvet cloak pinned with a large, circular brooch. Her fighting weopon and tousled hair finish her look-

Boudicca stands a mere 4 1/2 inches tall (11.4 centimeters) and is specially created out of wood, wire, clay, and paint.

(A must have for the history buff or your historic heroines collection!)
