Thumbnail Mineral Specimen or Raw Crystal Jewelry

Dimensions (mm): 10 x 5 and 14 x 6 Each

Dimensions (inches): .4 x .2 and .5 x .24 each

Origins: from Moses Hill, Magnet Cove, Arkansas, US

Chemistry: TiO₂

Field collected by Mr. Clyde Hardin, the renowned expert in Magnet Cove digging.
Rare black mineral composed of titanium dioxide. Titanium dioxide occurs in three well known minerals - rutile, the most common but also anatase and the rarest of the three - brookite. Of course since all three minerals have the same chemistry they occur in different crystal systems.
