Large moth soft sculpture made from new and vintage velvets, cottons and upholstery fabrics.
A plump body is pulled tight with stitching and ribbed to mimic a chubby moths shape.
Permanently stiff wings are folded back and her little legs hold her in a friendly stance.
Flaws, age marks, rusty pin marks and odd stitching are celebrated and are to expected.
A gentle tea wash lightly ages each piece and pulls all the colours together with inks, acrylic paints and watercolours.
Many hours are spent adding tiny stitching and adding little details.
Lightly sanded and frayed this little lady is looking for a new home.
Designed as a decorative object she is both charming and utterly unique.
Hangs simply from a small ring on the reverse.
Would look great 'en masse' in a hallway, in a bell jar in a kitchen or resting above a fireplace.
They look great anywhere in the home and make a unique and unexpected gift.
She will be sent out recorded so can be tracked and signed for on delivery.
Nothing I make is designed to be given to a child/baby as they are very delicate items which contain wire and beads.
This Moth is 27cm in width,8cm in height and length is 18cm (not including antennae!)
Thanks for looking!
This listing is for one moth, no photographic props are included.
