For sale is a white metal souvenir token for Johnstown, PA. The token measures approximately 38mm in diameter (or 1 and 7/16th of an inch). One side reads "City of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Incorporated December 18, 1889" and shows factory or foundry buildings. The reverse side reads "Built By Joseph Johns The Founder, First House in Johnstown, PA" and shows what looks to be a log cabin.

This token has wear and is tarnished; there is also a small hole at the top (could be used on key chain or as pendant).

The Johnstown Flood took place earlier the same year that this town was incorporated. This token must have been cast as a commemorative coin, perhaps for the 50th anniversary of the flood.

I believe this token was also cast in bronze.

Please see photos for additional condition details and don't hesitate to ask questions. Thanks for looking.
