This is the 8th printing of this book and is from 1944. According to the introduction "the purose of this book is to supply the home repairs information you need - when you need it. Most important of all - we have endeavored to make as easy as possible the task of finding exactly the data you want - quickly. There is no complicated table of contents, index or cross-index to battle with. This book has been arranged so that the chapters and chapter numbers correspond with the letters of the alphabet."

This would make a great reference resource for someone who collects vintage appliances or radios. Now you have an instruction manual on how to fix many of those items in one book.

I have just skimmed through the book but found it interesting in the section on dishwashers that they start off this way......
"Most dishwashing machines required less water than the housewife is accustomed to use. Consequently, she is inclined to use too much water with the result that the machine overloads,"

Whatever :)
