This is an antique engraving of different kinds of dragonflies in their natural environment, from Meyers Konversationslexikon, published in the 1890s.
Beautifully detailed and true to life, this engraving shows what looks like different stages of development for these insects (some in the water), and an egg-laying damselfly (Lestes sponsa).
Beautiful image!

The small print...

...on these old prints

Although I am not a professional seller, I can guarantee that these are all original prints. I took them personally out of the 5th edition of Meyers Konversationslexikon - THE encyclopedia in Germany at the time, published in the 1890s. This was the only way of saving at least some parts of this old encyclopedia. I am not really familiar with all the professional terminology, other than what I just read up on. So if you have further questions or are not quite sure I described something correctly, please ask!
