This book is lovely on many different fronts...

1. It is a beautiful autumn red color, faded in spots, with frayed edges (very well loved shabby chic!) just like your favorite pair of blue jeans.

2. It has a beautiful inscription on the inside cover that reads: From Margaret with Love Dec. 1944. The book was published in 1910 so Ms. Jeannie just loves that 34 years later it is still be passed around spreading happiness and joy.

3. The pages are a beautiful coffee (with milk!) color. which is so complimentary to the red cloth cover you just feel like you are holding a little bit of Autumn in your hands.

4. The story, about undying love, was THE bestselling novel of 1910 and over the course of 100 years has been made into 5 movies, a televsion show and a play. The first movie, a silent black and white film premiered in 1910 starring Florence Lawrence (nice rhyme!) and King Baggot. The last, a 1970's spanish tv series adapted from the novel. In 2002, the Rosary was re-released with new introductions.

You can feel all that potential when you flip the pages!

About the book: Measures 5.5" inches (width) x 8" inches (length) x 1"inch (depth). Published by Grosset & Dunlap, New York, 1910. 370 pages.

The book is in shabby chic condition with foxing on interior pages, fraying around the cloth covers, darkened spine, and fade marks on the front and back covers. Both the spine and all the pages are intact, whic amazes Ms. Jeannie for a book that is 102 years old! In addition to the inscription on the iside cover, the name of the previous owner is also handwritten. Both the inscription are the previous owners name are written in lovely script.
