The coat of arms of Norway is a crowned, golden lion rampant holding an axe with an argent blade, on a crowned, triangular and red escutcheon (shield). Its elements originate from personal insignias for the royal house in the High Middle Ages, thus being among the oldest in Europe. In Norway, the motif of the coat of arms is often called den norske løve; literally translated, “the Norwegian lion”.

This vintage coin (1953) has a soft gray patina and some beauty marks ~ naturally acquired with age and travel. The coin is made of a nickel alloy, and is about the size of a US quarter.

The smooth stone bead is hematite, with a steely-gray color.

The neoprene cord is 20 inches in length, with a sterling silver clasp. A top-quality item made in the USA.
