This is a lovely teacup with purple violets. Hammersley & Co. was produced by Alsager Pottery in Langton, Staffordshire, England from 1897-1939. This cup is one of the last produced there and known as 'Hammersley & Co.'. This backstamp dates the cup to 1939.

You are buying only the teacup. I have never had the saucer. I have shown it on a white porcelain with gold trim that I have had it sitting on to display it.

It is a lovely cup with the purple violets and gold trim...the pedestal and a raised handle gives it character....and elegance! It stands 2 1/2 inches and is 3 1/4 inches in diameter.

A rare and hard to find collectible piece...not many out there in the market place!
