This set of vintage stemmed glassware will bring a spectacular finish to every dinner party! Their classic, simple design complements both vintage and contemporary styles and will match any pattern you own. Right-sized for cordials and liqueurs, shots and elixirs, as either a digestif or an aperitif, each cordial-sized glass features a flared rim and lovely trumpet-shaped body; the bowl is supported by a short and sturdy pedestal base. These were originally sold as a "cordial set" of six glasses and a silver plated serving tray / carrier made by Leonard Silver Company. (The silver tray is not included.) This set of six glasses is in excellent vintage condition; there are no chips, cracks, or flea bites in the flawless glass.
Cordials were traditionally served at the beginning or end of a meal, to act as a digestif and to bring warm feelings to the gathering. In Europe the tradition continues to this day. The word 'cordial' comes from the Latin 'cordalis,' which means “of the heart,” and cordials were believed to have beneficial effects on both the digestive and circulatory systems.
