These lovely embellishments or garnitures are quite old, before the 1900s and have
come off a piece of expensive Victorian furniture.
They have many uses - decorating doors, furniture, walls and all craft and art work.
They are decorated in the Rococo style with acanthus leaves and a large beaded finial.
They have two mounting holes at the bottom and one at the top.
They are showing their age by the verdigris forming and the ormolu wearing off a little but they will polish up beautifully if preferred.
Very artistic, very eye catching, excellent quality and getting rarer.
The pair weigh 375 grams without packaging.
A really eye catching decorative item for restauration work or a pelmet or an over the door
Length 23.7 cms = 9 5/16"
Width at widest part 5.5 cms = 2 3/16 "
There is a small foundry crack at the rear but cannot be seen from the front.
The low price reflects the slight wearing of the ormolu and the crack at the rear.
They will be sent by priority airmail with insurance to all destinations.
