This is a beautiful Good Luck charm from 1913 depicting a small bird in Sterling silver on the reverse bearing a banner reading Je Porte Bonheure 13 (I Bring Good Luck and The year). The mount is Gold Plate which has mostly worn away exposing the metal beneath.

The Face bears a tiny Photo of a pair of young children (Probably the children of the intended recipient) and is in superb condition. These mementos were carried by Many French soldiers during the first world war WW1 and This particular example came with a large number of military Items. Hence I am Fairly certain this was carried into battle by a Young French lad As a reminder of those at home and a token of fortune.

Measurements- approx. 1" diameter
