A while back I saw these remarkable lampwork glass beads on Etsy, created by an artist that lives in Israel. I was so drawn to the beads that I purchased a set. I had them sitting in the original box for months and months. I knew the perfect piece would come along to make the connection. Finally, I decided that I was going to make some smaller fish teapots. I constructed my first batch of three. I made sure to only create holes for five wires, just in case one of these fish would be the recipient of the very special beads. In a flash of inspiration, it came to me that I was going to mimmick the design on the beads, stripes and dots through the glaze decoration on the fish. I'm so thrilled with the way that this fish finished up. I really do love her. When I named her, the first thing that came to mind was the Cha Cha, so that's her name. Sometimes it really is best to go with the first thing that comes to mind!

Made from soft stoneware clay, I throw the ring and base on the potter's wheel and then go to work adding handbuilt embellishments that bring her to life. To add a bit of fantasy to this gal I've added long flirtatious eyelashes made of wire, her lips have been plumped and rouged.

I've been trying to add a feeling of movement to my fish. I'd like to get them to the point where you feel like they're jumping for joy. As with all of my decorative teapots, this girl isn't practical to use. Because of her plump lips, she's a bit of a drooler. But if you want to spoof your friends at your next tea party, bring her out!

Dimensions will be approximately 9" wide 8.5" high by 5" deep.

This fishy teapot is made to order so please allow 4-6 weeks for her to be created. I have another set of fabulous lampwork beads that are almost identical in color to the ones in this listing.
