One morning I woke up thinking that little ceramic spore pods would be a nice addition to a soap dish - to lift the soap up out of it's slime so it dries between uses. I enjoy using handmade soaps and made this dish to honor them. It is is big enough for even the largest of your big, fancy, handmade soaps. This dish may be difficult to clean with all of the texture and holes, but the spore pod fun makes it all worthwhile.

Brown and Cream Dish is made from low-fire clay and glazes and fired to 1898 degrees in an electric kiln. The glaze is glossy and transparent, revealing the cream colored clay beneath. Impressed into the top of the dish is a grid texture, where the brown glaze has been applied and then wiped away, leaving traces in the texture. The bottom is also textured, and four study legs support the dish. The little disc shapes have a bit of recycled beer bottle glass melted in the middle of each one.

This dish would also be great for sushi, business cards, trinkets, keys or your rings and jewelry (it's fun to put your rings around the little pods.) It is food and dish-washer safe, although hand washing will definitely prolong it's good looks.

It measures 4.75 inches (12.5 cm) long, 4 inches (10.5 cm) wide, and 1 inch (3.5 cm) tall.
