This unique cane is hand turned from White Mulberry that grew right here at BlackWater - probably not more than 100 yards from the Walnut tree it's resting against! Mulberry when first worked is a bright canary yellow, but will in a short time turn a deep rich reddish brown due to UV light.

This cane is approximately 36 1/2" long, and the top handle is about 2 1/2" in diameter. I inserted a Maple "medallion" in the top for a little contrast. Once this cane darkens the Maple should stand out nicely! I used a "chair tip" (available at hardware stores) - the cane tips I find just look too bulky for this piece. The cane is a little longer than I prefer, but can easily be cut by a few inches to fit you comfortably.

Look for more great items from Blackwater Workshops! Most of the wood I use has grown right here at home - Cherry, Ash, Walnut, Hackberry, Cedar, and more. Birdhouses, bird feeders, boxes, shelves, turned items and whatever other crazy ideas pop into my head! Enjoy!
