We have seen lots of dangling cherry brooches in our day. We are always delighted by them. However, this is the first one we have ever seen like this. Originally the 5 cherries were each a different color. You can tell by using a strong light and a flash, which will show the true color of bakelite. It appears there was a dark purple cherry, dark red cherry, maroon cherry, bright red cherry, and a green cherry.
Each cherry is carved for detailing.
Of course, the plastic cover string has lost much of the plastic coating over time. I have seen these restored, but I don't do that kind of work, so it is being sold as found.
They are still secure, however, wear it at your own risk. I never wear my dangle brooches, too afraid of loosing the dangles.

The brooch top is WOOD. The shape is a sea shell....thanks to fellow Etsy-an Marianne for pointing that out to me.

Nice addition to a bakelite collection.
