He is one of my latest creation. I was going to make a traditional Japanese stylized rabbit, but my fingers moved differently from my intention. That's how he was born. I usually make rabbits on the full moon nights. I started doing this a couple of years ago. In Japanese folklore, sacred rabbits live and make special divine rice cakes on the moon. The full moon gives me a bit of special power to create my rabbits.

I handbuilt him from white crank stoneware clay, which contains tiny pieces of molochite, which look like white grains of sand. It was bisque fired at 950C (1742F) , decorated with my own white glaze and glaze fired at 1250C (2300F) in a kiln powered by solar energy. The glaze is satin matt white with attractive crackles.
