How is scale determined for your miniatures?

Scale is based on the foot to eyeline measurement of an adult male humanoid figure, not the total height of the miniature. This method creates a more consistent reference across different poses, body types, and sculpting styles.

Why do some races appear larger or smaller than others?

Non human characters are intentionally scaled based on their race. We use average racial height guidelines from the 5E tabletop RPG rulebook so humans, dwarves, elves, halflings, giants, and other ancestries maintain appropriate relative size and tabletop presence.

Will this miniature match figures I bought from another shop?

Not always. Different shops use different scaling standards. Many sellers print models at the sculptor’s listed size without adjustment. At Gallivanter Minis, every miniature is individually measured and rescaled to maintain consistency within our shop. Because of this, miniatures purchased from other sellers may not match our proportions or sizing.

Why do miniatures from different sculptors look slightly different?

Each sculptor has their own artistic style, anatomy preferences, and proportional exaggerations. Even at the same scale, differences in limb thickness, body mass, stance, or head size are normal. We rescale for overall consistency, but artistic differences are part of what gives each model its character.

Are size or proportion differences considered defects?

No. Variations caused by sculpting style or scaling practices between different retailers are not defects. We consider these normal characteristics of artisan designed tabletop miniatures.

Do you rescale every model?

Yes. Every Gallivanter Minis model is individually reviewed and scaled to align with our internal standards. This extra step helps ensure that figures purchased from our shop look cohesive when used together.

Is this miniature ready to paint?

The miniature arrives unpainted. Minor cleanup such as light sanding or filing may be needed before priming and painting, which is standard for resin miniatures.

What should I do if something seems wrong with my order?

If your miniature arrives damaged or in a condition you feel is unacceptable, please contact us before leaving a review. We aim to provide a five star experience and will work with you to make it right.

The Product:
An unpainted 3D printed resin figurine for tabletop RPG and wargaming. Printed in 4k resolution using a resin blend that provides a pleasing navy grey matte finish, crisp detail, and impact resistance. Most models have a separated base, and some may require assembly.

Scale:
We measure a model’s scale as the distance from foot to eyeline on an adult human character. Consider this when choosing a scale for halflings, dwarves, half-giants, and other races with unique racial heights as they may end up much larger or smaller when compared to your human sized characters.

Consistency:
Different sculptors have different default sizes, but we do our best to make products from different sources match each other with consistency. This process is not perfect and there may be slight variation. As some models have unique sculpted bases, this may lead to those models having a slightly larger or smaller diameter base than others in its same scale. This is also true for models with a wide stance.

Quality:
3D printing is not a perfect process, but we’re confident in our quality. We inspect every model for print completion and take great care in removing support material. However, your model may contain minor surface flaws such as pock marks or scratches left from the support removal process. As you would with a mass produced injection molded figure, please inspect your minis for any necessary finishing, filing, or sanding before you begin priming and painting. If you find a model in unacceptable condition, please reach out so a solution can be reached.
