Frequently asked questions about BlackRibbonVintage

I measure all of my clothing laying flat. I recommend that you take your tape measure and measure something you own that is similar in style and compare to the measurements I have provided. I measure the shoulder seam on the back side from seam to seam. Chest is measured from armpit seam to armpit seam. Waist is measured across where the waist naturally curves in or where waist seam is. Hip is measure about 9 inches below the waist seam. Length is measured from the top of the shoulder to the hem. If you have any questions on fit please message me. Modern sizing is very different. You can be a small in one brand and a large in another, so I cannot tell you if this will fit you based on a generic size. I cannot accept returns due to poor fit.
I have a cat. There is a good chance Lucy has been around the vintage. After items are listed they go into a special storage space where she does not get to go. I do not allow her to roll around, play in, or generally be on top of the garment ever. If you are highly allergic I recommend having the item cleaned on arrival. I'm a non smoker :)
Most vintage will not hold up well in washing machines. To keep your vintage looking good and lasting another life time I recommend hand washing, unless it is a Dry Clean Only garment. Sometimes just hanging a garment outside on a breezy day will freshen it up just fine. I do not sell garments that I believe are dirty. I hand wash a lot of what I list, but not everything. Sometimes with vintage it is best not to clean. I have ruined many garments thinking everything needed to be hand washed, soaked, dry cleaned. If you have a question about a particular item and whether or not it has been cleaned please message me. I am also happy to offer my opinion on cleaning.
I often use grocery bags and other re-usable materials to package items.
Lay Away can be arranged on items over $150. I require 50% of the purchase price excluding shipping to be paid upfront. 20% of the first payment is non-refundable should you backout and stop making payments. A payment plan will then be set up to have the item paid off 30 days. I'm very flexible. Please message if you're interested in setting up a plan.
