★ In a short period of time I have become the PREMIER TYPEWRITER SHOP ON ETSY. The quality of my machines is exponentially better than anyone else's.
★ Franklin typewriters have always been sought after by countless collectors. It's the machine's limited production runt, all curved front name plate and crescent shaped keyboard that enthusiasts gravitate to. On the keyboard, you'll note the hexagonal black and white keys look amazing. This model, the "New Franklin," was manufactured c.1897 and still works rather well. The carriage advances with each keystroke (mostly), the bell dings, the ribbon advances and the upper and lower case letters line up when typed. The feed rollers and platen need to be replaced and won't pull paper through, though, the typewriter is meant to be collected and not used regularly. The nickle plating has flaked in several areas (common) and some enamel has worn. Clean and without any funky smells. The base is original and in excellent condition but the cover is long gone. This Franklin types 10 characters per inch (pica). Excellent condition.
Get inspired and write something!
★ I love typewriters! The clickety-clack of the type bars and the ding of a bell is like a symphony. Watching the springs and levers react with each keystroke is performance art. These old machines arouse and assault the senses whether they are on display or in action.
