A gorgeous brooch! It's hard to say when this was made, these were popular from the late Victorian period right up through the 1930s and still very collectable today. I'd say this one is around the 1900s- not quite bold enough for the 30s but still rather modern.

All the stones (made from pyrite!) are present and the clasp and pin are tight and working well. Marked '925 SILV' on the reverse, it would shine up beautifully with a mild polish- though you should make sure not to clean the crevices as the dark tone helps the marcasite shine out.

2 inches long; 1.5 inches at the widest point.

antique brooch - sterling silver Victorian marcasite stone floral branch
