Here is a quote from the inside cover that perfectly describes this book:
". . .a collection of wise, loving, wry, and profound thoughts about flowers and natures by authors from Abraham Lincoln to Colette, from Robert Browning to Gertrude Jekyll, quotes that any flower-lover will cherish. The recipes for small gifts. . .are a charming way to bring the joy of gardening to someone special. And the author also includes "the Language of Flowers" - a way of saying you care about someone that was popular in times past. The book is illustrated with beautiful full-color antique engravings from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Anyone who loves flowers and finds peace and happiness in harmony with nature will love A Bouquet of Flowers."
