"You take with you a piece of my heart.
Just as you did every time we were apart".

In sadness and despair myself, I hope that this design will offer solace.
The tiny heart ,carved from the larger heart, is meant as a casket token.

I made this necklace using black polymer clay. I textured the clay in a floral design and cut the heart out freehand, it is not a perfect heart shape. I rubbed purple mica powder on the heart, highlighting the raised texture. Next, I cut the tiny heart out of the large heart, which was also done freehand.

I mended the broken heart with 20g German style silver wire. I used the same wire on the tiny heart.
For embellishment, I wire wrapped a black key and a black rose which I hand sculpted using black polymer clay. I coated the hearts with varnish but left the rose natural.

For the necklace, I used black ribbon, finishing each side with knots and a wooden bead. I applied fray check to the edges of the ribbon.
I used the same black ribbon to tie a bow on the tiny heart, also using fray check on the edges.

The necklace measures approx. 35" but you decide the length when tied.
The heart measures approx. 2 1/4" x 2 1/4".
The tiny casket token heart measures approx. 1/2" x 1/2".
