This luxuriously sized pin features a rich, root beer colored stone. The cushion cut jewel is made from hefty glass, thickly cut and faceted. It is set in a four-pronged gilded back that barely peeks over the edges, making the stone appear to float over fabric. It’s not a bright, flashy gem, but a mesmerizing one that—because of its substantial depth—glows a lush orange in the light.

This late Victorian/early Edwardian era pin (1870-1900) has a sturdy c-catch and t-bar pin on the back and is crafted from gilded white metal. The front facets of the stone have softened due to age and are no longer crisp, but still catch the light. There are tiny nicks in the stone’s edge where the prongs touch. This is a robust pin and would look handsome on a lady or gent, especially worn on a cravat or scarf at the throat!
