Vintage Retro Standard Speciality Wood Serving Nesting Trays With Painted Ducks Circa 1950's, made in Japan. This is an estate sale find. This set is painted with ducks on each tray, flying over the marshes, heading south.

The trays all have stickers from the Standard Speciality Company, made in Japan. They all have intact wooden raised sides and reinforced at the corners with curved chrome. They have normal wear and tear, the small tray does have some paint chips refer to photo # 3, the medium size has some varnish wearing off on the lower right side but considering the age of these pieces they are in remarkable good shape.

Small Tray measures 10 3/4" X 6 3/4"
Medium tray measures 11 3/4" X 7 3/4"
Large tray measures 12 3/4" X 8 3/4"

Snack trays came out of a need to hold our Oreos that were created in 1912, Marshmallow Fluff in 1917, Cool Aid in 1920,and the infamous Twinkies were born in Chicago in 1938. For those that loved the salty taste, Lay's Potato Chips were made in 1932 and Swanson TV Dinners were only 98 cents in 1954. Snack trays then turned into TV trays.

Fast Forward to 2012, now we all work out, have gym memberships and keep our forbidden snacks to ourselves!

This would be a perfect treat for your vintage snack buddy, Twinkies are still good, fried, frozen or just out of the box.

So long for now, need to go on my run! Composing this listing has given me the motivation to burn some more calories, see you latter.
