Here's a pair of antique glass fishing floats, so pretty, you can almost hear the music! A music of hope, inspiration, calm, peace and contemplation - a virtual serenade of the simpler and most fulfilling aspects of life.

This delightful pair of hand blown glass fishing floats has been named 'Gemini Serenade' to honor the fact they feel inseparable and 'glow' like it's June all year long - and in honor of their inner 'serenade' or music!

The smaller of the two measures 2-1/2" diameter (the glass alone) or 7-7/8" in circumference with or including the width of its net. The net is an original, authentic, dual color, twisted twine net in cream and light gray - made of sturdy, quality polyester which was used in the 1950's-60's to replace worn natural fiber nets. The net shows light natural wear from decades at sea, yet remains tight, fully intact and in excellent condition.

The lovely glass is riddled with light champagne type bubbling, very subtle, and the vintage glass shows light to medium (at most) wear and shines with a brilliant sheen. Its seal 'button' shows fine craftsmanship, great placement. The surround edge is in great condition with no chips, no nicks, no grazing!

The larger of the Gemini Serenade Pair measures 3-1/4" diameter or 9-7/8" in circumference. This wonderful glass fishing float also shows lighter wear, possibly medium at most! The glass is thick and weighty (the little guy is thick glass too), showing mega swirling and larger champagne bubbling throughout the antique fishing float.

The seal 'button' on the larger float bears a great surprise! This is a raised, beautifully scripted clear strike in the form of an Arabic numeral '2', only fancy like calligraphy. Note the clear strike mark in photo #1, the seal button on the right - and especially note the close-up photo of the seal button in photo #4.

As gravity rules, these old glass fishing floats don't always cooperate for photos! A round sphere has its own 'center of gravity'. This is why the beautiful, gracefully scripted '2' in photo #4 appears to be a '6'. Look for the graceful base or bar of the '2' (which is upside down in the photo). The bar to the '2' runs alone the outer edge of the seal. Flip the photo north to south in your imagination and you'll see the perfect '2'. Arabic numerals from 1 through 6 were commonly used to mark floats, although only 20% of floats are marked! If the number '2' has special meaning for you, a loved one or friend, the Gemini Serenade Pair will make an unforgettable, unique gift. This seal 'button' is also in terrific, mint condition and glows like a magical artifact!

Both floats are superior in terms of construction and their vintage condition. As good fortune would have it, both are 'jewel like' in terms of their condition, low surface wear, and brilliant luster. Together they form a lovely serenade about the beauty of the old sea arts.

Thank you for helping to care for vintage fishing floats which are rapidly being replaced with plastic or synthetic floats.
