This 1930s Art Deco deeply carved coral and black and red Galalith necklace is detailed and highly unusual!

I have never seen a Galalith necklace like this one. Deeply carved and unusually shaped coral galalith beads are accented by black, maroon red and coral disc and cone shaped galalith beads and spaced by round black and coral beads. Two of the carved galalith beads are carved into leaves! Somwhere along the line this necklace was restrung and had a sturdy barrel clasp added for safety. All beads are in excellent condition save for a bit of bleeding of red dye on to the very last coral discs near the clasp. Only mentioned for accuracy. The largest center bead measures 7/8" by 5/8" and the necklace is a true choker length at 14 3/4" long. The clasp is a replacement and adds extra security. If you are into early plastics, this will be a one of a kind addition to your collection!

Galalith was made for a short period of time in France (Sometimes called French Bakelite) and Germany before WW2 and looks a lot like celluloid, but when heated, smells like sour milk as it is a milk-based casein plastic.
