There is a tradition in Japan for sending postcards on New Year's. This is a hand carved wooden stamp to make a handmade New Year's postcard or a postcard for any reason.

It is double sided - One side has cherry and it looks like eggplant. And other side has sentences that said "Each cherry is lighting up" (Strong red color looks like a fire lighting up).

It is from the "昭和" "showa period". The "showa" period is from 1926-1989 but we believe it is from the1980's.

It measures 11cm wide x 16 cm long x 10mm thick.
