I machine quilted the quilt with Warm and White cotton batting and stitched in a free motion, all over loopy, swirly design with cotton thread. The design of the quilting really enhances the straight lines of the quilt blocks. The backing is a neutral color with red blooms, which matches perfectly. I made the binding double with a matching tan fabric and stitched it to the front of the quilt. Then, it is turned to the back and hand stitched down to finish.
I make all my quilts to be used and loved and when washing becomes necessary, this is easy to do in the washer. Use cold water and a gentle cycle, then dry in the dryer on a low setting. The quilt can also be laid flat or hung to dry as well.
With Fall coming closer, this quilt will be the perfect way to welcome in the change of seasons.
