▲▲ ▲ The Moderne Story ▲▲ ▲

Rich color combinations exclusive to LilahV. The mid century beads you see are composed of vintage German glass and 24k gold. The glass comes from a famed but long-defunct German glassworks in Sudetenland. The molds and chemical pigments used in glass production from 1920 - 1960 are no longer available, which is why so many of the shapes and hues are unusual.

Sometime in the 60’s the designer disappeared and the entire lot lost. Just recently the beads were uncovered buried in a factory. Since the beads are no longer able to be produced, they are rare and highly collectable. LilahV’s secret supplier has the only cache of these finite beads. All LilahV designs are limited editions.

LilahV jewelry is finished with 14k gold filled material.

THIS IS THE LAST NECKLACE OF THIS DESIGN! ONCE THIS NECKLACE IS SOLD THE DESIGN WILL BE GONE FOREVER.

Frequently asked questions about LilahV

All gold (and silver) tarnishes over time. Ok, 100% pure gold does not tarnish but its also too soft to use and requires it to be combined with other metals. Gold and silver plated or dipped will tarnish over time depending on a number of factors like cosmetics, soap, chlorine, perspiration and even smog. Gold filled and sterling silver takes a significant longer time because its - well there's a shit ton more gold or silver on that bad boy.

For me, Amanda, I have to be very careful even wearing 24k solid gold jewelry since the ph balance in my skin makes gold tarnish very quickly! Pretty ironic for a jewelry designer.
Each RETRO collection piece comes on a baby soft piece of recycled leather or suede and then placed in a white or black gift box.

All other necklaces and earrings come on their respective cards and encased in a reusable cellophane envelope. Rings are placed in a cotton drawstring bag.

Receipts = To save (and love) trees, I do not include a receipt in any order. If you want a receipt included, please leave that in the notes. And hug a tree.
LilahV: [Ly-La-Vee] We named our company after our rescue aussie Delilah. Yep, our company originates from a dog. A sweet, smart, energetic, all things awesome dog. Totes makes sense now, hey?

The company started life as LilahVintage. When we began back in 2012 our brand was based around the 1920's bauhaus beads in the RETRO collection. But without much foresight (we expected this to be a fun side project) we forgot the beads will run out. Then what? Oops. When the company started expanding, we shortened it to LilahV.
First - dipped and plated are the same thing. Dipped just sounds way cooler.

Gold & silver plated uses a base metal (usually alloy) which goes through a series of processes and is eventually dipped into a bath of electroplating solution which contains gold or silver. When an electric current is applied, an electro-chemical reaction occurs and a thin layer of gold or silver is deposited onto the metal.

Gold filled is at least 1/20th the gold in weight of the piece - a significant amount more gold than plated. The jewelry starts with a base metal, brass, which is heat pressured and bonded with an outside layer of metal.

The difference therefore is the amount of gold used and the bonding process.
I love dogs. And I love my mom. That may seem unrelated but I lost my mommy to Acute Leukemia in 2013. LLS was there after her diagnosis to give us information, resources, even hugs. They sent survivors to come talk to both my mom and the family (and were the first to say she could even possibly survive) giving us hope. And she did survive, for 5 more years, long enough to dance at my wedding.

Oh and if I didn't mention it - I love dogs. I work with the Utah Humane Society to adopt all kinds of critters from rats (yuck!) to kitties (awh) to Great Danes. My husband, Gary, and I even take in foster dogs who need to get out of that tiny kennel for a few weeks. You can follow our wackiness on Instagram @lilahvjewelry
